Top Ten- Destinations

I love Top Ten lists.  It's so hard for me to choose ten of anything out of all the possibilities in the world.  Nothing is more telling than to see what someone prioritizes, so I guess I'll give away a little bit of myself with my Top Ten Destinations.  Keep in mind, though, that these are in no particular order.  I will get to each of them as life allows.

1.  Disney with my kids.  This is happening, pronto.  I want them to still believe in the magic.
*UPDATE 6/12/2014: We did this Summer 2012!  The kids visited Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom.  I enjoyed Animal Kingdom the best.  It was shadier with smaller crowds.*

2.  Rome  It's not a religious thing, it's a Latin thing.  I want to experience the Colosseum, the fountains, the culture, the FOOD!
3.  Rocky Mountains  I imagine they are so majestic.  The vista alone is what I'm after.  I want to hike all day, relax all night, and soak in the views.
4.  Boston   I love history, so where better?  I can go to museums, drool with envy over Harvard, and see the sites.  Plus there is bound to be some great pubs.
5.  Costa Rica  Tropical atmosphere with cloud forests, volcanoes, and beaches.  I am a science teacher after all.
6.  Ireland  The brogue.  The scenery.  The music.  Some family history.  Mainly that gorgeous Irish brogue.
7.  Alaska  Glacier and whale-watching.
8.  New Zealand  A little adventure mixed in with following the hobbit-trail.  I know I'm a nerd, you don't have to tell me.
9.  Paris  Ooh la la
10.  Tibet  A new culture for me.  A challenging learning experience in an exotic location with beauty everywhere.

And..... (I can't control myself.)

11.  Mexico  I want to see Machu Picchu and the Mayan ruins.

I didn't even know what Machu Picchu was until a couple of weeks ago. My co-worker is going there later this year as a present to herself for her 50th birthday. She is going to hike up.
